Who is CITEL?
Founded in 1936, CITEL is an industrial group that engineers, manufactures and sells protection solutions for electrical, networks, telephone (digital & analog) and mobile equipment against electrical transients. These solutions are issued from continuous efforts in research & development, on the component level (such as Gas Discharge Tube), but also on all surge protection ranges to be ahead of our customers needs. CITEL is a worldwide leader in the surge protection market. CITEL has manufacturing facilities in France and in China and has sales office located in France, Germany, USA, China and Eastern Europe.
Historical Dates :
1984 - 800 M2 manufacturing facility is constructed in the city of St GALMIER in the south part of France.
1985 - CITEL America sales office is established in Miami, Florida
1987 - 2 Investment companies buy over 25% of CITEL’s Stock.
1988 - CITEL Germany sales office is established in Düsseldorf.
1988 - A production license is signed with the NAMTECH Society in India
1992 - CITEL acquires its competitor CLAUDE, subsidiaries of GTE Sylvania en France.
1996 - CITEL acquires SUPERSAFE in Holland which specializes in Din Rail Surge Protection
1996 - CITEL Shanghai Electronics is established in China.
1998 - CITEL goes public on the "Second Marché" in Paris.
1999 - Headquarters are moving to île St Germain at Issy les Moulineaux.
2000 - Launched the first Gas Tube for Type 1 AC Protections.
2000 - Launched the first generation of DS150VG-300 based on CITEL’s VG technology (Gas Tube & MOV).
2000 - South American Sales office is established in Brazil
2003 - Launched the DS250VG-300 Type 1 designed for the German Market
2005 - Launched a new range of Type 1 AC surge protections, the DUT250VG, low blockage and very high power handling
